About This Practitioner

In addition to offering Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT/tapping) and Matrix Re-Imprinting, I am an Accredited Counsellor with the BACP and have worked with clients therapeutically for 30 years. I am passionate about healing and change and have integrated a broad range of approaches, techniques, and tools into my practice, so I am able to work proficiently and safely with a broad range of clients and issues.

Therapeutic approaches I use may combine Counselling, Somatic Techniques, Coaching, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Energy Psychology (EFT and Matrix Re-Imprinting), Mindfulness and Trauma Support.

Issues I Work With
There are many issues and combinations of challenges that clients bring. Some examples are: work-related stress, neurodivergence; ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorder etc. Anxiety, low mood, bereavement and loss, stress management, procrastination, Imposter Syndrome, OCD, relationship issues, burn-out, life transitions including menopause, health anxiety and many more.

EFT for Emotional Regulation
EFT can be a particularly helpful way of working when experiencing stress, anxiety and overwhelm. It helps the nervous system to calm down quickly, helping it to de-sensitise and avoid a sense of overwhelm.

EFT/tapping is a great anti-dote to stress as it releases emotional tension that has been ‘stored’ in the body, creating a feeling of relaxation and relief. It also brings our focus away from ‘mind chatter’ and worrying and brings our attention into the body where our emotions can be addressed effectively.

EFT is gentle technique which feels self-soothing, allowing any emotional upset and tension to gently unravel itself. This creates space to re-connect with your inner resources and re-build resilience and emotional balance. It is also surprisingly adaptable and can be used effectively for a range of issues, whether they originate at a physical, mental or emotional level. It is very self-affirming and can be taught relatively quickly, so it can be used as a self-help tool between sessions for day-to-day issues. However, it always best to work with a qualified practitioner for deeper issues, especially trauma.

EFT for Trauma
A frequent theme in my work with clients is a history of past trauma. Traumatic experiences can impact us long after their initial impact, limiting our ability to lead our lives in the way we wish to. Over time we all accumulate unresolved emotions from previous upsets, relationships and events in our life and may need support to move through them. When the underlying emotions, beliefs and associated memories are resolved, we are free from repeating similar patterns in our life.

By using Emotional Freedom Techniques and other approaches combined, I will work with you to address and resolve past traumas and associated memories, releasing any trapped emotions safely and gently.

EFT is an advanced technique for trauma as it also supports a process of somatic release in the body. This approach is safe and effective and ‘re-wires’ unconscious patterns, so you can change your responses to past events and gain movement in areas of life where you may have felt restricted or stuck.

Change Your Beliefs, Change Your Life
Part of our work together may involve looking at your core beliefs in those areas of your life where you are feeling limited and would like change and greater self empowerment.

Our beliefs are usually unconscious and are what keep us repeating themes in our life that no longer serve us and prevent us from creating the outcomes we want. Beliefs are formed in the past and are usually associated with traumatic events which become ‘wired’ into our memory system and create reoccurring patterns in our life.

When we gain insight and process any new learning through the Matrix Re-imprinting process, we replace what has been released with positive emotions and new empowering beliefs.

What is an Empath?
Many people who identify as being an empath share common traits including heightened sensitivity, intuition, and advanced levels of empathy. However, empaths can also experience challenges because of their innate gifts.
