About This Practitioner

Susana's interest in EFT developed through using EFT for her own recovery from PTSD. Susana became fascinated with the use of EFT to help regulate the nervous system, and started incorporating the use of EFT into her social work practice. Working with foster carers and children in care who have experienced significant trauma, Susana became increasingly aware of how much nervous system activation shapes professional decision-making, emotional responses, and relational capacity. Susana found EFT to be a practical and accessible way of supporting regulation — not to remove emotion, but to allow values, curiosity, and connection to lead practice rather than reactivity.

Susana approaches EFT as a grounded, ethical intervention that sits comfortably within social work principles. Her focus is not on positivity or symptom suppression, but on helping practitioners notice, work with, and recover from activation so they can remain engaged and relational in their work.

Susana am particularly mindful of professional boundaries and the realities of social care systems. EFT, in her view, is not a replacement for supervision, therapy, or organisational support, but a complementary tool that can help practitioners sustain themselves within demanding roles.
